On June 9th, Richard Griffiths (you probably know him better as Uncle Vernon) was a guest on Russell Brand’s radio show, which airs on bbc radio2. Griffiths, who stars alongside Daniel Radcliffe in the play “Equus” was asked about what it was like working with Radcliffe on stage. A funny conversation ensued. Noel Gallagher of Oasis was on the phone throughout this interview and at times would throw in his two-sense. I have transcribed the interview, which can be read below:

Russell: What was it like being in that bloody “Equus” with Daniel Radcliffe? Alright was it?
Noel: Yea it was brilliant.
Russell (to Noel): Your not in place! Shut up Noel! Be polite.
Richard: Have you seen it though? It’s a good play.
Russell: No I don’t go to the theatre!
Richard: But I get very cool about it. As a young man and a young woman both of whom grew up within 20 paces of me.
Russell: Really?
Richard: Yes, yes.
Russell: Which one gave you more of a tickle?
Richard: Mmmmm uhh well, both of them had their backs to me various times so it was difficult to work it out. But uh…
Russell: Young Radcliffe. What’s his little wizard’s wand like then?
Richard: Well apparently it’s perfectly formed my dear. He’s terribly fit, he’s been working out.
Russell: Yea, I saw those pictures of him in the paper. I was like ‘hello!’ wouldn’t mind having a go at his sack of magic.
Richard: Whoa.
Russell: Sorry, my mum made a horrible face there. My mum is in the room. She is disgusted.
Richard: Well he’s 19 now, he’s a young man you know and he’s pretty fit and he has been working out so he’s taking care of himself.
Russell: He looks tasty.
Richard: I think so, when he takes his glasses off apparently Elsa Popping.
